Driving too much - No time to post!

My current job has me driving 116 miles every day. I gotta move! I see a lot of stupid things on the road, so I'll try and keep this up while I stilll have a monster commute. I drive the turnpike everyday, so I hit the EZ-Pass site all the time.

Disaster Area

The Guv declared yesterday and today to be a state of emergency. We got some wind and rain. Last Monday though, I personally know two people that lost their cars in the massive flooding. No emergency on Monday though...

They're all around me - even at work!

This morning I pull into a parking space and just as I am about to open my door to get out, the lady parked to the left of me - who pulled in seconds before me - opens her passenger side door. Now I'm pinned in my car while she proceeds to get her papers, briefcase, coat and broom.

No problem I say to myself - I can wait for a few moments.

Then she goes to her trunk - leaving the passenger door still open blocking my exit. Now I'm a patient man, but this is ridiculous. She could have easily closed her door while she rumaged through her trunk. But NO! Now as I am about to reach out and close her door for her, she comes back to the side and gives me a look - like - How dare you try to close my door!

Thus starts another wonderful day of work...

The *ssholes among us

I'm sitting at a red light (Rt. 41 and Faukland Road) in the straight lane. An imbecile decides to go around the "traffic" by using the right hand turn lane (clearly marked -- I mean they just repainted the lines three days ago!). I'm the first car in line so she pulls halfway into the intersection in front of me - still blocking the right hand turn lane. Naturally, the right turners are p*ssed off and start honking at her. Oblivious to all, she just sits there blocking traffic until the light turns green and she takes off in front of me like a bat of out hell. I proceed at 25 mph (the spped limit) and caught up to her in no time -- about 200 yards down the road at the next red light!

Twisted metal, injuries and fire today...

Some idiot smashed into a stopped vehicle right in front of the entrance to my housing development. The police closed Faukland Road (the only road leading to my house) while the fire was being extinguished. I parked in Brookmeade and walked home.

How do you get into such a wreck when the speed limit is only 30 mph????

We all know the answer to that one -- Mix 30 mph with 70 mph and BAM!

I'm still shaking and I only witnessed the accident!

Mild incident this evening...

I'm sitting in the left lane waiting to take a U-turn on Kirkwood Highway (3 lanes each way). Finally there's an opening, although they're moving slow in the far right hand oncoming lane. I'm just about to turn when the guy sitting behind me (a 20 something loser all alone in a 10-14 seat HUGE SUV with temporary tags) lays on his horn. Folks, there are still cars blocking my way -- even if I was to take a left hand turn. Naturally, I take my time making my U-turn 'cause of the obnoxious horn. Of course, he curses me for it and then lays on the horn again.

No doubt he was late for his volunteer community work with the handicapped or elderly...

New bitchin' blog!

I'm starting a blog to document the many driving incidents that I come across. The impetus for the blog creation came when my sister came down last week from Maine. She noticed how everyone on the roads is completely nuts.

Well duh!

NASCAR and 200 hundred billion car ads a day have turned every driver into a complete uncaring imbecile (not that they weren't uncaring imbeciles before the racing and ads).

Because I drive every day, I'm sure to have at least one incident a day to report. This should be fun - so here goes...
